In 1960, Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the institute and named it after the great scholar and first Education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Institute is producing highly skilled, talented and qualified manpower in the field of engineering since its inception.
